Journalism is an underused job

A newspaper script gives a player a role that produces something other players read. That is rare. Most jobs generate money; a newspaper generates a record of what happened last night, which is the raw material every long-running server eventually wishes it had.

It works best with the free camera resource alongside it, so a story can carry a photograph rather than only a claim.

The police information loop

Wanted posters and the crime complaint system are the other half. A complaint gives a civilian a way to report something without standing in a lobby waiting for an officer, and a poster makes a wanted player visible to people who were not online for the crime. Together they let consequences outlive the shift they happened in.

The everyday two

A realistic taxi job and a stash script. Both are ordinary and both get used daily, which is a reasonable definition of value.

The camera and the business card creator cost nothing. The five paid entries are $9 to $15, badged for QBCore, ESX and Qbox.

Frequently asked questions

Does the newspaper need a dedicated player?

It works better with one. The script provides the publishing mechanism; someone still has to want to write, which is a recruitment problem rather than a config one.

Where do wanted posters appear?

Placement is configured on your side. Most servers put them where players already pass, such as police stations and busy public spaces.
